Skylanders: Speeders is a new entry in the Skylanders franchise. It comes after Trap Team, and is the first spin-off to hit consoles as well as mobile devices. It was released on April 7th, 2015. The gameplay is very reminiscent of typical racing games like Mario KartSonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, and ModNation Racers.

Story

Kaos has challenged the Skylanders to a friendly racing tournament to settle their differences. The Skylanders believe it is just a harmless competition, but the diabolical Portal Master intends to destroy Skylands and the Cloudbreak Islands. Eon is suspicious, though he agrees anyways, keeping a close eye on the villains.

Gameplay

Skylanders: Speeders plays like most typical games of the genre. You place a figure on the portal, select a Speeder, and race on a selected track. Each character has a Special Move and a Nitro Meter. The Special Moves are unique to each racer. The Turbo Meter is filled up as you go along. Hitting opponents with items and collecting valuables will raise it faster.

Characters

Unlike the main series games, Skylanders: Speeders features a large variety of playable characters. Of course, there are the Skylanders. Villains and supporting characters now have their very own toys as well.

Skylanders:

Every Skylander from Spyro's Adventure to Trap Team is playable.
